Associate Attorney | Johannesburg South
Hire Resolve is seeking a litigation-focused Associate Attorney to join a well-established legal practice in Johannesburg South. This is a high-growth opportunity designed for a courtroom-ready professional to handle a significant overflow of work directly from the Directors, with a clear path toward Partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Management: Independently manage a diverse caseload involving Magistrate’s Court and High Court matters.
Practice Areas: Lead cases across debt collections, divorce and family law, deceased estates, commercial litigation, and general disputes.
Criminal Law: Handle general criminal matters (excluding CIT or high-level criminal cases).
Court Appearances: Conduct trials and present solid, persuasive legal arguments in court without supervision.
Client Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expert legal counsel and managing expectations throughout the litigation process.
Requirements:
Experience: 1–3 years Post-Admission experience (this role is not suitable for newly admitted attorneys).
Courtroom Proficiency: Must have a proven track record of trial experience and the ability to manage court proceedings independently.
Advocacy Skills: Demonstrated strength in drafting and presenting oral arguments.
Professionalism: Ability to thrive in a traditional, high-standard office environment (corporate attire required).
Culture (Nice to Have): Proficiency in Portuguese and an understanding of Portuguese culture would be a significant advantage.
Position Details:
Location: Johannesburg South (Professional Office Park environment).
Remuneration: R240,000 – R360,000 per annum (negotiable).
