A leading bank in Gauteng is seeking a skilled and dynamic Finance Consultant to join their GP Retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for marketing and selling the bank’s asset-based finance products, including residential property, small equipment, and motor vehicle finance. This role requires someone who can build strong client relationships, meet sales targets, and ensure compliance with all banking policies and procedures, while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities 

• Prepare finance advance submissions in line with procedural guidelines and ensure full compliance with requirements.

• Finalise approved deals following procedural guidelines.

• Undertake invoicing and recovery of all fees due.

• Proactively interact with other departments to manage workflow efficiently.

• Update deals on the computer system as required.

• Handle all administrative matters for approved deals and obtain client signatures post-approval.

• Ensure all required client information is obtained in a timely manner.

• Facilitate signing of legal agreements at the client’s convenience.

• Keep clients informed at every stage of their finance transaction and ensure proper process follow-through.

• Ensure finance sales budgets are met.

• Grow the finance book across Residential Property, Small Equipment, and Motor Vehicle Finance by sourcing new clients and servicing existing ones.

• Acquire new clients through qualified leads from existing clients and internally generated leads.

• Cross-sell all products by forwarding leads to relevant departments.

• Develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with clients.

• Attend to all client financial requests and queries.

• Deliver efficient and effective service to promote services.

• Ensure motor vehicle applications are submitted within 24 hours.

• Manage and resolve difficult client queries, both face-to-face and via client visits, by addressing concerns efficiently and professionally, providing solutions that benefit both the client and the company.

Requirements 

• BCom degree or relevant qualifications in Business Management.

• Driver’s license required.

• FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act) compliance is an advantage.

• 3–5 years’ experience in a sales position within a financial services institution.

• General banking experience is an advantage.

• Comprehensive knowledge of asset-based products.

• Banking systems proficiency.

• Microsoft Office skills.

• Familiarity with policies and procedures, including:

  • Credit Policies and Procedures

  • Legal Policies and Procedures

  • National Credit Act (NCA)

  • Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA
